In the FOOD FOREST project, communities are at the heart of the initiative.

FOOD FOREST is a European initiative developing scalable, community-based food forest models that integrate regenerative food production, ecological restoration, education and social innovation. Supported by EIT Food and the European Union, and implemented through pilot sites in Spain and Estonia.
FOOD FOREST brings researchers, local organisations and residents together to develop community food forests in Artajona, Spain, and Tallinn, Estonia. Each pilot is a place to grow food, share knowledge and explore how regenerative practices can support healthier soils, biodiversity and more resilient local food systems.
The project combines hands-on learning, community participation and research. What is learned at both sites will help create practical methods that other communities can adapt, making food forests welcoming spaces for people to learn, collaborate and care for their environment.
Pilot sites in Spain and Estonia are testing a scalable approach to regenerative food forests under different territorial and social conditions.
The platform will host project documentation, monitoring outputs, technical materials and audiovisual content produced during implementation.
The initiative brings together consortium partners, strategic benefactors and external stakeholders committed to biodiversity, resilience and community-based regeneration.
