Open to all: community at the heart of the project
This theme does everything you could possibly want it to do and not only that.

A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.
Donate FundsLocated in Artajona, Navarra, the Spanish pilot is transforming previously cultivated land into a Community Food Forest designed to restore soil health, strengthen biodiversity and explore more resilient approaches to local food production. The site combines permaculture principles with research, education and practical experimentation.
Its development follows a participatory Living Lab approach. Residents, volunteers, schools, farmers, local authorities and project partners contribute to the design and evolution of the site through training, planting, soil and biodiversity monitoring, water management and other hands-on activities.
This shared process is turning the Artajona Food Forest into a place for ecological regeneration, community learning and citizen science. The experience and evidence generated through the pilot will help refine a model that can be adapted and replicated in other European communities.
